Darrah received her B.S. in Public Health and Community Medicine from the University of Washington and her M.S. in Developmental and Reproductive Biology at the University of Hawai'i. She is currently finishing her M.P.H. at the University of California at Berkeley. She began her career fueled by a passion against cancer at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, followed by the Institute for Biogenesis Research in Hawai’i.

Understanding the underlying cause of disease, Darrah began serving rural communities and fighting related health disparities. For eight years, she ran an organization providing ophthalmic care to villages across the globe. Establishing sustainable clinics, coordinating medical education, and providing sight-saving surgeries in over 20 countries, she learned to manage in the most remote of locations.

 

Bringing international experience home to her own people of Hawai’i, she now oversees Project Vision Hawai’i (PVH), an organization that provides mobile health and social services to rural, native, low-income, justice-involved, and unhoused communities across the island state. PVH plays a crucial role in disaster response, working with the Dept of Health in the fight against covid-19 for the vulnerable populations in Hawai’i, responding to the tragic Maui fires with the Department of Human Services, and standing up the first tiny home kauhales (villages) for the Governor’s office.

 

Project Vision Hawai’i has the largest mobile fleet in Hawai`i that provides statewide services in communities with significant access-to-care challenges related to income, lack of insurance, geographical location, or cultural conflict. PVH is the liaison between cultural, grassroot efforts and government systems.

Solomon Robert Nui Enos is a Native Hawaiian artist, illustrator, and visionary. Born and raised in Makaha Valley (O‘ahu, Hawai‘i), Solomon hails from the well-known Enos ‘ohana. Solomon has been making art for more than 30 years and he is adept at artistic expression in a wide variety of media including oil paintings, book illustrations, murals, and game design. A self-described “Possibilist” Solomon’s art expresses an informed aspirational vision of the world at its best via contemporary and traditional art that leans towards Sci-Fi and Fantasy. His work touches on themes like collective-consciousness, ancestry and identity, our relationship with our planet, and all through the lens of his experience as a person indigenous to Hawai’i.

Solomon has exhibited in Biennial X (Honolulu Museum of Art), 6th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (Queensland Art Gallery), CONTACT art exhibitions, and others. His work is held in private collections and in the public collections of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center and Hawai'i State Art Museum. He has led numerous community mural projects and has received art commissions for hotels, corporate offices, public buildings, and schools in Hawai'i. His latest works include murals and augmented-reality installations for Google and Disney.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii,  Chef Maii began her culinary adventure at 3660 on the Rise, cooking under Chef Russell Siu and Padovani’s Bistro and Wine Bar, where she transitioned to full-time pastry cook under Chef Pierre Padovani.

 

In 1999, she moved to New York City where she worked at Union Pacific under Chef Rocco DiSpirito and at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in their pastry banquet kitchen, led by Chef Jean Claude Perrenou.

 

In 2022, she was named the James Beard Award Foundation Best Chef for the Northwest and Pacific Region on her first nomination. Robynne is the first Hawai‘i-born recipient to win this award in 19 years and is the first Native Hawaiian woman to win a James Beard Foundation award.

Recognized as one of Hawaii’s most versatile musicians, Jeff Peterson is at the heart of the Hawaiian music scene today. His passion for the guitar has allowed him to shine as a solo artist and has given him the opportunity to collaborate with a wide variety of artists from Hawaii, across the US, and abroad. His focus on Slack Key guitar, classical, and jazz music has allowed him to develop a unique and transcendent voice on the guitar while being deeply rooted in the traditions of his Hawaiian heritage.

Born on the Island of Maui, Jeff Peterson grew up on the slopes of Haleakala where he was introduced to the rich heritage of Hawaiian music by his father, a paniolo, or Hawaiian cowboy, on the Haleakala Ranch.

As a performer, Jeff has had the honor to work with a wide range of artists and groups including Eric Clapton, James Galway, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Aaron Neville, Boz Scaggs, the Honolulu Symphony, Hawaii Opera Theatre, Keola Beamer, Nathan Aweau, Amy Hanaiali’i, The Matt Catingub Orchestra of Hawaii, jazz bassist Rufus Reid, shakuhachi master Riley Lee, Taiko master Kenny Endo, Classical guitarist Benjamin Verdery, Hindustani Slide guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya, the acclaimed string quartet Ethel, and with many other artists in the fields of Hawaiian, classical, and jazz music. He has four recordings with Riley Lee: “Maui Morning”, “Bamboo Slack Key”, “Haiku”, and “Haleakala”. He also released seven solo guitar recording featuring his slack key artistry, “Oahu”, “Slack Key Travels”, “Maui On My Mind”, “Kahealani”, “Slack Key Jazz”, “The Artistry of Jeff Peterson”, and “Pure Slack Key”. Wayne Harada from the Honolulu Advertiser reacted to hearing the CDs by writing: “Add the Peterson name to the top 10 list of slack key giants”, “His manner is impeccable, his style exquisite: the CD is perfection”, “Brilliant . . . Peterson raises the bar a few notches in both slack key and jazz with this bright and exceptional release”. He is also featured as a performer and arranger on the 2008 and 2009 Grammy Nominated recordings “Aumakua” and “Friends and Family of Hawaii” by Amy Hanaiali’i.
